Privacy Policy

Last updated 9 September 2026

This policy explains what personal information Swervve ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit swervve.shop or buy a Swervve product, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It is written to be read, not to hide behind. If anything is unclear, email hello@swervve.com.

1. Who we are

Swervve is an independent studio that makes and sells digital planners, workbooks and tools. Swervve is the "data controller" for the information described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@swervve.com for any privacy matter, including a request to exercise your rights. If you need a postal address for a formal request, ask and we will provide one.

2. What we collect — and what we don't

Swervve.shop is a simple, mostly static website. We have deliberately kept data collection to a minimum.

Information you give us directly

  • Email address — if you join "the calm list" (our newsletter), or email us for support.
  • Your message — anything you choose to write when you contact us.
  • Order details — if you buy directly on this site (when direct checkout is available): your name, email, billing country and the items purchased. Card details are entered on our payment provider's secure page and are never seen or stored by us.

Information collected automatically when you visit

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical data for every request: your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you view, referring page, and the date and time. This is used for security, troubleshooting and to keep the site running.
  • Fonts. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. To serve them, Google receives your IP address and browser information. We do not control this and receive nothing from it.
  • Advertising. We do not show ads on this site and we do not use advertising cookies or ad networks. No advertising or profiling identifiers are set by us or on our behalf.
  • Checkout. When you buy directly on this site, checkout is handled by Payhip. Payhip receives your email address and payment details on their own systems, under their own privacy policy, and shares order information back with us.

What we do not do

  • No site analytics of our own (no Google Analytics, no Meta/Facebook Pixel, no session recording).
  • We never sell your personal information.
  • No account is required to read the site or the journal.
  • The Wedding Planner App stores all of your planning data only in your own browser (local storage on your device). It is never sent to us or anyone else, and we cannot see or recover it.

3. How we use your information

  • To deliver the product you bought and provide the download links.
  • To answer your emails and provide support.
  • To send the newsletter you asked for — and only that — with an unsubscribe link in every message.
  • To keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Our legal bases (UK/EU visitors)

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on:

  • Contract — to process and deliver an order you placed.
  • Consent — to send you the newsletter (you can withdraw consent at any time).
  • Legitimate interests — to run and secure the website, respond to enquiries, and understand demand for our products, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation — to keep records we are required by law to keep.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Swervve's own code sets no cookies. The only local storage we use is in the Wedding Planner App, to save your work on your own device.

Advertising cookies. None. This site serves no advertising and sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Our hosting provider may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies for security and load-balancing (for example, to protect against automated attacks). These are essential for the site to function. Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies; blocking strictly necessary ones may stop parts of the site working.

6. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run Swervve, and only for that purpose. We never sell it.

  • Hostinger International Ltd — website hosting, content delivery and server logs.
  • Etsy, Inc. — when you buy through our Etsy shop, Etsy is the seller of record and its own Privacy Policy governs that purchase. Etsy shares limited order information with us (such as your name, the items, your country, and any message you send).
  • Payhip Ltd — our payment and digital-delivery provider when you buy directly on this site. Payhip processes your email address and card details on its own secure systems under its own Privacy Policy, delivers your download, and shares order information back with us.
  • An email delivery provider — if you subscribe to the newsletter, to store your address and send the emails.
  • Google LLC — receives your IP address when your browser requests the website fonts from Google Fonts. No advertising data is shared.
  • Advisors and authorities — where we are legally required to disclose information, or need to establish or defend legal claims.

7. International data transfers

Swervve operates internationally and our providers are based in various countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where personal information is transferred outside your country, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent mechanisms) to protect it to a comparable standard.

8. How long we keep information

  • Order and transaction records — for as long as needed to support you, and thereafter for the period required by tax and accounting law (typically up to 7 years).
  • Newsletter subscription — until you unsubscribe, then we remove your address from the active list.
  • Support emails — normally up to 24 months after your query is resolved.
  • Server logs — for a short rolling period set by our host, then deleted or anonymised.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • have your information deleted;
  • object to or restrict how we use it;
  • receive your information in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing already carried out);
  • complain to your local data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, your national supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these, email hello@swervve.com. We will respond within the time your law allows (for GDPR, within one month) and we will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.

10. Notice for California residents

In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in section 2 (identifiers such as name and email, internet activity such as server logs, and commercial information such as purchases). We collect it for the business purposes in section 3 and disclose it only to the service providers in section 6.

We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond what is permitted without a right to limit. California residents may exercise the rights to know, delete, and correct as set out in section 9, and have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for doing so. You may use an authorised agent to make a request.

11. Children

Swervve's products and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. We keep the information we hold to a minimum, limit who can access it, and rely on established providers (listed in section 6) for hosting and payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information and will notify you and any regulator as required if a breach affects you.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information — for example, when direct checkout or the newsletter goes live — we will update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged clearly. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.

14. How to contact us

For any question about this policy or your personal information, email hello@swervve.com. We aim to reply within one business day.
